About this calendar
How to read the listings
The status reflects the documented research. It does not guarantee that an event will take place. By default you see confirmed, published and announced events.
Status
Confirmed The source explicitly marks the event as confirmed, for example with “Onaylandı”. This is not a guarantee from us.
Published Published by the organiser, federation or a tournament platform, but not explicitly marked as confirmed. This applies to most events.
Announced Announced or part of season planning; the day, venue or schedule may be missing. “Provisional”: planning not yet specific enough. “Secondary source”: only documented by third parties such as local press.
To be checked Conflicting, only found in aggregator calendars, or of unclear origin. Hidden by default; these entries are not additional confirmed tournaments.
Cancelled Cancelled according to the organiser or federation. Hidden by default.
ProvisionalTimes marked this way come from a provisional schedule.
Time not yet knownNo start of play is documented. Opening and registration times are shown in the details; they are not the start of play.
Countries and selection
All countriesEvery listed event. The focus is Germany, Europe and Türkiye; outside Europe, selected federation and club events are included. This is not a complete worldwide database.
EuropeAll European countries including Germany, the United Kingdom and Gibraltar, plus Türkiye, Northern Cyprus and Georgia because of their role in the European tournament scene.
Germany, Türkiye, other countriesGermany, Türkiye and Europe can be chosen directly; all other countries via the drop-down list next to them. The numbers show the matching events.
Share your selectionYour filters are stored in the page link, so you can send, for example, all tournaments in Türkiye straight to a friend.
Limits of the research
AustriaThe federation calendar could not be read sufficiently. Two Vienna club meet-ups are listed; this does not mean there are no tournaments there. backgammon.or.at/turnierkalender ↗
SwitzerlandThe live tournament calendar was checked, but no sufficiently clear upcoming dates could be extracted. The online championship and club nights are listed separately. swissbackgammon.ch/live_backgammon/nationale_turniere ↗
TürkiyeRe-checked ourselves on 26 Oct 2026 with WBF-Türkiye and Türkiye Tavla Birliği. WBF-Türkiye usually holds regional championships in Kocaeli, Ankara, Kuşadası, Istanbul and Bodrum every year. The 2027 dates had not yet been announced and are therefore not listed. wbfturkey.com/wbf/6075/wbf-turkiye-2026-faaliyet-takvimi ↗
Other countriesFor several other European countries, sufficiently documented upcoming dates are missing. The calendar does not cover all countries and clubs.
Outside EuropeSelected federation and club events from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa and Egypt are included. This is not complete worldwide coverage.
Tournament platformsEntries found only on TavlaID are marked “origin unclear” and hidden by default. The platform also contains test entries.
Major annual eventsMajor annual events such as Monaco 2027 were not added from previous years’ dates without a confirmed new announcement.
Past tournamentsTournaments that ended before the research date (e.g. Aachen, 20–25 Oct 2026) are not included.
Aggregator calendarsA date is not automatically confirmed just because it appears in several aggregator calendars; they may copy the same outdated source.
